Common uses
Turn one long image into an Instagram carousel
Shoot or design one wide panorama, split it into 2, 3 or 4 equal columns, then post the pieces in order so they scroll as one continuous picture. Use columns mode and set the column count to the number of slides you want.
Cut a contact sheet or sprite sheet back into single images
If you have a sheet of icons, product shots or game sprites laid out evenly, grid mode with the matching rows × columns turns every cell back into its own file. When the cells are a known pixel size, switch to exact pixels instead.
Break a tall screenshot into readable chunks
Long chat threads, error logs and full-page captures are hard to read when shrunk to fit. Split them into rows and each piece stays readable in a ticket, a doc or a slide.
Build a 3×3 puzzle feed for a profile grid
Grid mode at 3 rows × 3 columns gives nine numbered pieces. Post them bottom-right to top-left so the profile page shows the whole picture.
Print a big design on a home printer
Slice the artwork into a 2×2 or 3×3 grid, download the ZIP, print each piece at 100% scale and tape the sheets together.
Questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The splitting is done by your own browser using a canvas. Your files stay on your device and are never sent to a server, because there is no server.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. There is no account, no app and no plugin. Open the page and use it.
Is there a size limit?
There is no limit set by this page. The real ceiling is your device's memory — very large images can be slow, so start with a reasonable resolution if a split feels sluggish.
Why does a JPG export look different from the original?
JPG is a lossy format, so each save re-compresses the pixels. Pick a higher quality value if you need cleaner output, or export as PNG to keep every pixel exactly as it was.
What happens to edge pieces in pixel mode?
When the image does not divide evenly by your pixel size, the last row or column is smaller. Tick "drop the leftover edge pieces" if you only want full-size pieces.
